Volleyball Falls to No. 1 Juniata and Christopher Newport

HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Bullets volleyball squad dropped matches to No. 1 Juniata, 3-0, and Christopher Newport, 3-1 in the second day of the ASICS Invitational on Saturday.

Freshman setters Jade Dunhour (Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim) and Amanda Krampf (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) combined for 26 of the team's 30 sets with 14 and 12, respectively. Dunhour also served up four aces in the match.

Libero Steph Vial (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic had 21 digs in the contest.

In the final match of the invitational for Gettysburg, the Bullets managed to pick up a game off of Christopher Newport, but dropped the match 3-1. Katie Heffner (Easton, Pa./Easton) led the offensive attack with 13 kills. Junior right side Lauren Thul (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) finished with 12 and Megan McConville (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) had ten to complete the trio of Bullets reaching double digits in kills.

Krampf set up 36 kills in the course of the match. Vial had a season-high 31 digs and Krampf added 19 more. Krampf and Thul led Gettysburg in blocks with two each.

The Bullets return to action next weekend at home as they host the Gettysburg Battlefield Classic on Friday, Sept. 8 and Saturday, Sept. 9.
